Damien Hutchins - Founder and Director
Percy King was founded in 2020 by Damien Hutchins following a career spanning over 20 years working in the corporate, catering and events industry.
Damien’s first experience in the world of hospitality was as a Waiter at the famous Bear Hotel in Hungerford.
Damien then went on to work in a number of front and back of house positions to support himself while studying.
Upon completion of his studies, Damien went into the IT sector where he worked in a number of client-facing sales, marketing and project management roles.
Following work in the Telecoms and Energy sectors, Damien decided to take the plunge and become a freelance event manager, incorporating retail and hospitality management roles.
Damien has spent the past ten years providing elegant and sophisticated experiences at events such as Royal Ascot, Chelsea Flower Show, The Open Golf Championship and the Ryder Cup.
In 2019, Damien worked extensively on the ICC Cricket World Cup. He has also been involved in the planning and execution of weddings, private dining and corporate events.
Damien has worked at many iconic sporting venues including; Lords Cricket Ground, The Oval, Twickenham and Wembley stadiums and Cheltenham and Aintree Racecourses.
2022 was a busy year with many highlights such as operating a private suite at the British Summertime concert in Hyde Park and supporting the catering operation in the Athletes Village at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Professional and composed with a flair for service and a keen eye for detail, Damien has developed an innovative training and consultancy business to help event, retail and hospitality businesses to succeed across the spectrum of customer operations.
